Foundations of Flight: The Beginner Drone Experience
Mission Overview | Time 0800-1200PM (Dependent on Weather)
Stop "guessing" and start commanding. Whether you just unboxed your first drone or you’re looking to transition into a professional career, Foundations of Flight is designed to take you from zero to confident in a single session.
Led by a military-trained pilot with a decade of flight experience, this course bypasses the "hobbyist" mistakes and focuses on the tactical skills used by the pros. We don't just teach you which buttons to push; we teach you how to read the sky, manage your aircraft, and stay compliant with San Antonio’s unique airspace regulations.
What You Will Master:
The Pre-Flight Briefing: Professional checklists for hardware, battery safety, and weather assessment.
Airspace Intelligence: How to use LAANC to fly legally near San Antonio’s military bases (Lackland, Randolph, and Kelly Field).
Precision Maneuvers: Hands-on "Sticks-in-Hand" training covering takeoffs, landings, hovering, and emergency RTH (Return to Home) procedures.
The "Safety First" Mindset: Understanding FAA Part 107 basics and how to avoid the most common causes of drone crashes.
Camera Essentials: Framing your first cinematic shots and understanding basic sensor settings.
What’s Included in Your Slot:
4 Hours of Expert Instruction: Small group environment for personalized coaching.
Training Aircraft Provided: Don't have a drone yet? Use one of our professional-grade DJI units. (If you have your own, bring it! We’ll help you calibrate it.)
Patriot Flight Manual: A digital take-home guide featuring our proprietary pre-flight checklists.
Certification of Completion: Signed by our founders to jumpstart your pilot logbook.
Who Is This For?
New Pilots: Anyone who wants to fly safely and avoid expensive "rookie" crashes.
Aspiring Pros: The perfect first step before taking our FAA Part 107 Boot Camp.
Veterans & First Responders: High-speed training for those who appreciate a disciplined, mission-oriented learning style.
Training Locations
Training locations are carefully selected to provide a safe, effective, and compliant learning environment. Exact locations will vary based on weather conditions, airspace restrictions, and operational considerations on the day of training.
All sessions are conducted within a 30-minute radius of the location in areas that allow for optimal flight conditions, minimal obstacles, and legal airspace access.
Final location details, parking instructions, and setup guidance will be provided 48-24 hours prior to your scheduled training via text message, phone call and email.
